THE PRIVACY BRIEFING

Most boards and executives carry privacy and AI governance obligations they have not examined. The Privacy Briefing is where Constantine works through what changed, what it costs to ignore, and what leadership are now exposed to.

Each edition opens on a single concrete event — a legislative change, an enforcement action, a vendor's terms change, a regulator's guidance or decision, a procurement policy now in force — and works through four questions the board should be asking before its next meeting. What new exposure does this create? What governance actions are available? What is the relative cost of acting now against acting later? Where does the liability actually land?

The briefing sits within a broader argument being made across talks, papers, and teaching: data governance is the foundational precondition for AI governance, and the obligations most organizations carry have never been read aloud at the board table. The eight themes the briefing returns to — data provenance, authenticity, sovereignty, cybersecurity, ethics, governance, privacy, and AI — are where those obligations live.

Subscribers receive the briefing on a regular basis, along with the supporting work — talks, articles of interest, and The Privacy Inquisition Blog — which situate each edition in the larger argument.
